Well, after several days I seem to have overcome many of the initial problems: There's been a fair number of reports of CTD's with the Airsimmer A320, though as everyone's setup is most likely different, tracking down the culprit isn't exactly easy. I haven't noticed any except that my FS crashed at one point but dont know if Airsimmer is to blame for that. I'll agree though, when it does work, it's a really great panel and model. Not to mention that it makes no sense at all if they were really hard pressed for cash, you'd want as many as possible buying the advanced version - yet people are holding their wallets, since they don't want to pay for both the basic version and the advanced version further down the line. And then there's the whole debacle, about whether or not we will be allowed to upgrade the basic version to the advanced one, once the latter is released. So far I've seen some fairly annoying bugs (no external power, TabletPC load manager not updating loads/fuel, neverending pushbacks, all happening at random) as well as some cosmetic ones (startup sounds is acting very strange and occasionally you'll lose the ambient noises (such as A/C)).Īll of which I could accept from a freeware group, but as something I've paid $40 for? No thanks. I've been toying about with it and unless they get some bug fixes out the door fairly quickly, I'll be asking Flight1 (their distributor) for my money back. It's pretty neat.Ī320 Basic Edition Quick Start Guide - helps with the Tablet PC From the Tablet PC, you can download updates and liveries and it includes a load manager and a fuel calculator. By default there will be an icon on your desktop for it. You need to use the Tablet PC, which will be installed with the A320. I just purchased it but looking for the liveries. There's a custom pushback feature, initiated from the MCDU, but I didn't get the turn to work and the pushback didn't actually start until after the ground crew announced that it was finished. What you can do is start everything up from a cold/dark cockpit (via ground power or APU), enter a flight plan with SIDs and STARs into the FMGC, go through the correct engine start procedures and fly the route entirely on automatics (autoland is a "maybe", of course") or manually. some of the MCDU functions, such as Fuel Prediction and Progress. You should be aware that there is some functionality that isn't included in the Basic version, e.g. I've tried the tutorial flight from Blagnac to NIce but the localiser isn't aligned with the runway so you have to land manually. Have anyone tried Air Simmer A320 yet?! What's your opinion about basic version? ![]()
